Session 2

  • Tuesday Sept 23
  • Chatted over food about their plan
  • Khiri did a reading to discover that the yellow ship (HES Dandune) is “heavy” so they picked that one
  • Josh used a contact to find info about an old tug that was in a shipyard for repairs that still had its papers and registration.
  • Wednesday Sept 24:
  • Group sets out at dawn the day the first two ships are coming in. Go to Tagran’s shipyard and steal the tug. A cat is fought, and Tagran curses them as they head out.
  • They wait in open water outside the channel for the Dandune. Khiri has a blood magic link to the ship’s rats.

Session 3

  • Wednesday Sept 24
  • beat other captain ships to the Dandune, successfully boarded
  • killed everybody, discovered the monolith
  • sank the ship by setting it on fire
  • returned by stolen tug to a small dock in the worm, spread out into the city and re-convened in the docks
  • paid by Tommy via Roy, sent on their way

    • Dresta hunting and trapping the Minerva person that he fought earlier
  • Thursday Oct 2 morning
    • The body of Minerva’s thug found hanging from a hotel window with the midge’s crest carved into his chest.

Session 7

  • Minerva’s gang is on high alert in the dockside after the killing.
  • Sunday Oct 5: Tarby hustled away by Abbey folks in a straight jacket. A pair of unmarked steam carriages picked her up at 6am.
  • Grace-upon-Water is the sanitarium, North of Dannofer.
  • Cormac and Helmi plan to head for the city graveyard in the religious quarter to search for a Tarby crypt in hopes of using the bodies to form a magical bond with Jacqueline.
  • Helmi heads directly for the graveyard while Cormac attends Sunday service at the High Abbey.
  • After service, he chats with a priest about “his friend” who got involuntarily committed to an Abbey sanitarium. The priest directs him to talk to the abbey clerks. While walking over, Cormac notices Roy heading in to confront the clerks himself (this was established prior to Cormac heading there, so it made a funny coincidence).
  • Cormac confronted Roy who was there to try and get info on where Jacqueline was taken. During this Cormac gets papers to file a “grievance against the registered agent of care” to try and become Jacqeuline’s agent (currently it is the butler).
  • Headed to daymark, met Savannah de Mateo and got her to forge the papers. She gave them a key to a hidden locker in Tommy’s office above
  • Dropped off the “Registered agent of care” grievance at the abbey
  • Dresta and Asher went back at night and are breaking into Tommy’s office to find the secret compartment. They get into the office, but Asher notices a familiar briney magic smell.
  • Helmi and Cormac are headed back to the graveyard for some grave robbing.

Session 8

  • Asher realized this smell is similar to an insane colleague who came back from the north shores near Ayr.
  • Dresta notices a fish-guts ward around the doorstep.

    • Asher set Tommy’s office on fire in their escape. “What’s worse than a shootout in a government building? A fire in a government building!”
  • Cormac and Helmi find James Tarby’s coffin.
    • Tool handle in Gaelic, says (they have yet to translate): “Help Given is Help Returned” and “Be not parched in your final walk”.
    • James Tarby died 20 years ago, that decomposed.
    • Ophelia Tarby, sister, died 11 years
    • Roy is a child of incest between between Ophelia and James.
    • Bernadette Tarby, James' wife.

Session 9

  • Monday
  • Cormac and Helmi have the same dream of the Monolith stone in a dry canal. Helmi notes a great signal in snow fall around the stone.
    • Sigil of warding, in lighting formed patterns.
  • Dresta looks over the documents from Tommy’s safe:
    • Deeds to his properties (including one on high street)
    • Fake identity as a minor noble
    • A specially wrapped set of blank papers with yellowed corners (invisible ink)
    • Deeds to some boats (including ones they didn’t know about)
    • A safe deposit key (413) at the central bank of the holy empire
    • A private ledger
  • Group acts like noble companions of Cormac a “tarby”
  • Take Tommy’s yacht north to Grace-upon-Water.
  • Learn that the staff there are expecting Roy tomorrow, based on a letter.
  • Make a big fuss, blustering their way to see Jacqueline.
  • Session ends with “I don’t know who this is” pointing to Cormac, who is playing off being another Tarby brother. Uh oh.

Session 10

  • We open into the moment where the warden lady realized there’s something afoot.
  • Khiri makes a trust spell on Tarby: 6 (picked 2)
  • Tarby is under a protection spell from minerva that activates when she loses consciousness.
  • Cormac searches the manager
    • Keyring
    • Case of syringes
  • Tarby and the Manager are subdued
  • They leave without murdering anyone, leaving the manager unconscious on the dock.
  • Sigils on Lady Tarby
    • Wildness of apex predator
    • Ocean great sigil (old, exact meaning not known)
    • Fire
  • Saw that a blood sacrifice powered Tarby’s blessing.
  • Figured out that there’s some debt owed to the Tarby family.
  • They wait out the night on the boat and head back towards Dannofer in the early light.
  • Golden Spire Inn for a carriage change up, then rent their own carriage for the last leg over to the tannery.
  • Tuesday noon end-of-game, them setting up in the tannery to interrogate Jacqueline.

Session 11

  • (prep) Roy will have reached Grace-upon-Water that morning, and is probably frantically headed back to town in search of his sister.
  • (prep) Jacqueline knows about Roy’s plan in broad strokes, and about Minerva but not about any tactical moves. Only involved in getting Tommy arrested by using her noble clout to call in the report. While a smart and capable person, Jacqueline has no real strength against torture and will likely give into questioning quickly.
  • META Taylor (Josh’s GF) joining today. Need the lines/veils talk, and brief discussion of positive meta gaming. Starting with intros for everybody.
