The Redolence of Empire

Revolution is brewing in the North. An extraordinary winter drives tribes from their traditional homes. War in the East distracts The Crown’s forces. Into this tinderbox, a small group wades, aiming to free their home city of Summer’s Breath from its occupiers. Can they succeed in carving out a niche for themselves or will their efforts aid in the destabilization of the entire region?

The Redolence of Empire starts in Winter 158 A.H. in the city of Summer’s Breath (Sommarandning).

Dr Mr. Copperswat,

…if that is indeed your name. Your proposal is interesting. Torstein’s grip is narrowing. Not sure who to trust. Meet in person. Havethem, Ledovflot Yard, small storage C, 4 days time.

— Urmas Järvi

Storage C

(ed. note: Urmas Järvi is one of Karl’s burner names.)

From: Vasil Pradjovik, Harbormaster, Ledovflot Operations, Summer’s Breath.

Subject: Nonpayment of Lease — Third Reminder

Dr Mr. Järvi,

As mentioned in the previous two letters, your account is in arrears as of the beginning of the month. Know that we do value the long history of your account, and we have made every effort to contact you. Our courier noted that they could not complete delivery of a copy of the second letter due to your mailbox being overfull. I assure you that while we wish to regain your business in the future, as of Midwinter your lapse in payment will force us to empty your leased space SMALL STORAGE C and confiscate its contents in order to recoup costs. Because this date falls neatly on a festive day, and because of how much you have spent with Ledovflot in the past, we graciously shall extend you an extra day.

Sincerely,
Vasil Pradjovik
