Spring: In the midst of ongoing negotiations The Crown mounts a sudden and unexpected naval assault on multiple Holy Empire bases in the Alboran Sea. This officially begins the War of the Western Passage. Fall: The Crown finishes construction of, and launches, The Arcanum into its drifting orbit above The City.

Fall: The Tratado del Mar is broken. Holy Empire naval vessels begin hassling Crown flagged merchant vessels traveling through the Straight of Gibraltar.
